We’re thrilled to share the story of an enchanting wedding full of sweet moments that took place in the cosmopolitan paradise of Elounda in east Crete.
A deluxe sea view hotel was the perfect setting for Negar & David’s Greek Island wedding story. The couple travelled from the USA with their closest family & friends to say their I dos in a truly idyllic location and the results were simply stunning!
Before the big day, Negar & David treated their guests to some fabulous pre-wedding events. The guys in David’s wedding party enjoyed a boat trip around the breathtaking coastal areas of Elounda while the ladies in Negar’s party spent the afternoon at not one but two local wineries, sampling some of Crete’s amazing wines. The following day they shared a relaxing spa day at the hotel’s premium spa facilities.
The wedding ceremony & reception were both held at the luxurious all-suite hotel, making it super easy for Negar & David’s guests to move from the ceremony to the reception party without a break in the celebrations to change venues. Rain on the day (very unexpected for June!) didn’t spoil the wedding celebrations one little bit, as we always have a ‘Plan B’ for such eventualities! We were able to move the ceremony, originally planned to take place on the terrace outside, to a smart indoor area without losing a single note of wedding magic! In fact, according to some traditions, rain on a wedding day is considered lucky, a good omen which brings health & happiness for the new Mr. & Mrs. And it certainly ‘poured’ with love that day!
Surrounded by their nearest & dearest and with their four bridesmaids & groomsmen by their side, the couple exchanged their heartfelt promises to one another.
Following the ceremony, the celebrations continued at one of the hotel’s stylish restaurants against a backdrop of sweeping ocean views. The reception area’s floral decoration was particularly breathtaking: luscious hanging foliage in gorgeous hues, creating just the right elegant, romantic ambiance. What a great aesthetic!
The evening was filled with laughter, heartfelt toasts, and the clinking of glasses as the newlyweds and their loved ones celebrated this very special occasion. After a sumptuous wedding dinner and the cutting of the white & gold wedding cake, the bride & groom enjoyed their first dance together at the water’s edge, beneath a spectacular display of fireworks. The fabulous live band and feel-good DJ kept everyone on their feet well into the night.
