Is there anything more fitting for a Greek island summer wedding in Crete than a venue inspired by the beauty of Cretan nature? It’s no wonder Lotus & Max fell in love with this picture-perfect setting for their romantic ceremony & reception; with its lush green landscape, exotic palm trees and panoramic ocean views, it boasts everything a stylish bride & groom could wish for in a wedding locale. The estate’s stunning natural surroundings offered the perfect blend of luxury, spectacular scenery and tranquility.
The wedding celebrations began the day before the ceremony, when the couple hosted a beach BBQ for their guests who had flown in to Crete to join them for the happy occasion. This cool pre-wedding event was a great way to kick off the fun and gave the wedding party the chance to let loose & unwind before the big day.
On the day of the wedding the air was filled with love & joy as the bride made her entrance with her mother & father to a romantic piano accompaniment. Lotus & Max then exchanged their sweet vows under a beautiful floral arch decorated with gorgeous white blooms. This was the day they had dreamed of for so long; this gorgeous setting, the decoration, the flowers and all the little details that went into making the day truly a dream come true.
Honouring Lotus’ Chinese heritage, the couple thoughtfully incorporated a tea ceremony into their wedding celebrations. The tea ceremony is a wedding tradition in Chinese culture whereby the bride and groom show their respect and gratitude towards their parents & new in-laws by serving them tea. In return, their families will offer their blessings and best wishes. It’s a touching symbol of the coming together of the two families. What a wonderful memory to cherish!
After the ceremony, there followed an elegant cocktail hour before the wedding dinner after which the guests also enjoyed a chocolate fondue tower, a delightful sweets table and a cute doughnut stand with irresistible cupcakes & cookies!
The sun slowly dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the sea & a gorgeous peach sunset, adding an extra touch of romance to Lotus & Max’s special day.
After the cutting of the 3-tier wedding cake, decorated with fresh white florals, the reception party celebrations kicked off with everyone soon up on their feet to dance the night away. The dance floor was draped with delicate string lights, creating a magical fairy-light sky beneath the estate’s tropical palm trees.
A must-have midnight snack of mouthwatering pizza kept the party going until the announcement of the last dance by the DJ brought the amazing wedding day celebrations to an end.
The following day Lotus & Max hosted a celebratory post-wedding brunch for their guests at a sea-front restaurant and enjoyed spending some extra precious moments with their loved ones before everyone headed home.
